Set amongst the rolling West Dorset hills, North Buckham Farm offers a chance to escape routine, switch off and enjoy some quality time. Whatever you want from your holiday this is the perfect place to base yourself. There is so much to see and do that one stay will not be enough to exhaust the possibilities of this stunning area.

We are a family beef/sheep farm with our 200 beef cattle and clun sheep. Lambing starts mid April and goes on into late May. We also have our working collie dog, farm cats, a selection of chickens and occasionally a couple of pigs. Chicken feeding and egg collecting is popular with all ages as is orphan lamb feeding.

The rural setting gives a feeling of being worlds away from civilization, but all our accommodation is well thought out and equipped to ensure home comforts and modern needs are met, depending on which option you take! We can now accommodate up to 15 people in beds for a large get together or reunion. The farm is just 2 miles from Beaminster, off the A3066 and only 15 minutes away from the coast at Bridport.

Our purpose built glass fronted viewing hide is tucked into the hillside and offers a wonderful chance to see Badgers in their natural environment. You will be able to watch the Badgers emerging from their setts and make their way down to forage in front of the hide. More information at our Beaminster Badgers website

Spring bulbs bursting through, autumn colours creeping in, morning mists hanging in the valley below, a crisp frost on a winter morning or the horizon ablaze with a summer sunset; the ever-changing scenery never fails to impress. See buzzards soaring above or glimpse a fox, deer or badger at dusk.

West Dorset is rich in home grown fresh and organic produce. Groceries can be purchased from farm shops, street markets and independent butchers, bakers and greengrocers, like those found in Beaminster. Eating out offers lots of options, from seafood restaurants on the coast, a particular favourite is the Hive Beach Café to a wide choice of pubs and restaurants nearby offering something for everyone.

We are near the World Heritage Jurassic Coast which is well know for its fossils. Within 30 minutes of the farm you can find harbours, beaches, stunning coastal walks, historic houses, castles, ancient churches, beautiful gardens, museums and lots of annual events throughout the year, including music festivals, street fairs and agricultural shows.

The characterful market town of Beaminster has all the basic amenities you might require as well as gift shops, pubs and tearooms. Crafts and arts are accessible all over West Dorset. Lyme Regis, Bridport, Dorchester and Sherborne have a good choice of individual and unique shops.

Whether you are a serious hiker or just enjoy a stroll, the farm and surrounding area can offer stunning scenery with views over unspoiled countryside down to the coast. There are tracks and byways criss-crossing Dorset offering cyclists as much challenge as they wish. A leisurely hack or riding lessons may be enjoyed at two local centres.
